We are residents from the area who want to encourage involvement in our neighbourhood. We believe that we can work together to positively  influence decisions for our community.

The Inter River Area

The Lynnmour/Inter River Area includes all the areas between Lynn Creek and the western edge of the Seymour River, extending from Burrard Inlet north to the North Vancouver Cemetery (excluding Indian Reserve No.2). [link to map]

We would like to acknowledging that the land of the Lynnmour/Inter-River Community is the unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoplesiii, including the territories of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

The General Purposes of the Inter-River Community Association:

To work to protect the interest of residents living in the area officially designated by the District of North Vancouver as the Lynnmour/Inter-River Area including all the areas between Lynn Creek and the property to the western edge of the Seymour River east of Capilano University (excluding Indian Reserve No.2) and extending from Burrard Inlet north to the North Vancouver Cemetery.

To keep residents of the Lynnmour/Inter-River Area informed of the events, plans and developments that affect them.

To promote co-operation amongst the various levels of government, the various areas of the District of North Vancouver and the residents of Lynnmour/Inter-River Area in developing and maintaining a healthy and stable community in the area. This would include promoting environmentally sound practices in the community.

To express the views of residents of the area on matters of concern to them or that have an impact on them.

To work with others to improve neighbourhood services and amenities for all residents

The Specific Purposes:

To assess community needs in the Lynnmour/Inter-River area.

To work with others to improve neighbourhood services and amenities for all residents.

To promote community spirit and community involvement in the development of of programs.

To liaise with other government and community services agencies which concern themselves with goods, services and directions for the betterment of the community.

To form alliances and partnerships with parents, youth, community members and professional resources with a view to improving locally based community services and amenities.
